Recently, The ESL School at New York Film Academy (NYFA) – Los Angeles took a trip to The Getty Center in the Brentwood Neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The Getty Center is one of the most famous art centers in the greater Los Angeles area. The center sits on the top of a hill in the Santa Monica Mountains, overlooking a breathtaking view of the city and coastline. This is just one of the reasons tourists flock to this well-known attraction.
April is a wonderful month to GET OUTSIDE! Baseball, rooftop socializing, and picnicking are returning after the cold, wet months of winter. The days are definitely getting longer and it’s almost time to get out your shorts! Whether you’re in NYC or LA, you’ll find so many fun things to welcome the warmer weather.

When people hear the word “February,” they usually think of Valentine’s Day and love. However, there are MANY more remarkable events in the second month of the year! Final Exams can be very stressful, and sugar is a great way to fuel the late night studying! We had our Annual Cookie Swap Party and Secret Santa gift exchange to have some fun at the end of the quarter!
In the heart of LA lies the Hollywood Bowl, arguably one of the most famous music venues in the United States. It’s prominence stems from its long history of iconic performances, from American musicians like Frank Sinatra to the world-famous The Beatles. Our students got the chance to explore the inside, learn about the architectural design of the building, and — most importantly — be immersed in its colorful history.
It’s officially summer! The weather has gotten warmer, the sweaters have been put away, and it’s time to have some fun in the sun! There is much to do in LA and NYC this month. Don’t just lie on the couch all day — get out there and discover something new!

During your time in the U.S., you’ve probably noticed that we celebrate certain things during different months. In April, ESN celebrated National Poetry Month by writing haikus and taking photos that represented the meaning and emotion of famous poems. May was National Meditation Month, Bike Month, BBQ Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month. To celebrate Mental Health Awareness, ESN-NYC students participated in a program at the New York Film Academy entitled “Lights Out!”
