Recently, The ESL School at New York Film Academy (NYFA) – Los Angeles took a trip to The Getty Center in the Brentwood Neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The Getty Center is one of the most famous art centers in the greater Los Angeles area. The center sits on the top of a hill in the Santa Monica Mountains, overlooking a breathtaking view of the city and coastline. This is just one of the reasons tourists flock to this well-known attraction.
April is a wonderful month to GET OUTSIDE! Baseball, rooftop socializing, and picnicking are returning after the cold, wet months of winter. The days are definitely getting longer and it’s almost time to get out your shorts! Whether you’re in NYC or LA, you’ll find so many fun things to welcome the warmer weather.
Did you know that March is designated as Women’s History Month in the United States? Check the blog later in the month to see the fun activities ESN-NYC and ESN-LA will be doing to celebrate. In addition, spring is in the air! Flowers are blooming, the days are becoming longer…breathe it in – things are about to start changing!
When people hear the word “February,” they usually think of Valentine’s Day and love. However, there are MANY more remarkable events in the second month of the year! ESN creates monthly event calendars, so students at our NYC and LA campuses can connect with their communities. Check out what our students will be doing this month!
January is the start of a new year. The month symbolizes a new beginning and a chance to make resolutions. The ESL School at NYFA students are coming back from a two-week break, but don’t worry because there are plenty of great things to do and new adventures to have in LA and NYC!
Weiyu “Tony” Sun, an ESN alum who is wrapping up his Filmmaking education at New York Film Academy (NYFA), took some time to update us on what he’s been up to. He also shared some advice for new students.
Final Exams can be very stressful, and sugar is a great way to fuel the late night studying! We had our Annual Cookie Swap Party and Secret Santa gift exchange to have some fun at the end of the quarter!
Each quarter, The ESL School at NYFA has students showcase their cinematic talents by having a short film festival. As Thanksgiving is during November, this was the perfect opportunity to have a potluck with traditional food and create short films based on thankfulness.
Fall in Los Angeles is a beautiful time of year. The palm trees sway in the cool breeze, the days are shorter, and the mornings are crisp. Autumn also means it’s time for Halloween!
Los Angeles isn’t famous for its Fall season. While the leaves on most of our trees don’t change to oranges and reds, we do get to enjoy 75 degree weather and go bike riding at the beach any day of the year.
ESN-LA took advantage of this beautiful time of year and went on a hike through Griffith Park to the famous Observatory located in the Hollywood Hills.
