Final Exams can be very stressful, and sugar is a great way to fuel the late night studying! We had our Annual Cookie Swap Party and Secret Santa gift exchange to have some fun at the end of the quarter!
Each quarter, The ESL School at NYFA has students showcase their cinematic talents by having a short film festival. As Thanksgiving is during November, this was the perfect opportunity to have a potluck with traditional food and create short films based on thankfulness.
Food is the way to anyone’s heart! It is also a great way to learn grammar. Last week, the students from ESN-NYC went to a classic, retro restaurant from the 1960s called Pearl Street Diner, near Wall Street. Diners are a symbol of “Americana,” or America’s heritage. Many popular and classic films include scenes in a diner. For example, think of the iconic opening scene in Pulp Fiction.
New York City and Los Angeles are very proud of their cultural diversity. The Los Angeles campus recently celebrated Cinco de Mayo, which is a celebration of the Mexican Army’s improbable victory over the French in the city of Puebla, Mexico (1862). See what The ESL School did to mark this special day!
Have you ever visited a new city and had a hard time finding a great place to eat? If you find yourself in L.A., don’t worry! ESN-LA students have written reviews to guide your tastebuds in the right direction! Sai, a Level 5 student, recently visited Strada Eateria & Coffee in downtown. See what she thought of this new restaurant.
