5 Questions With The ESL School at NYFA New York Education Director Linda Gilbert

Here in 5 Questions, we get to know some of our amazing faculty and instructors at The ESL School at NYFA (ESN). Today, we sat down with Linda Gilbert, our education director at The ESL School at NYFA New York. Let’s  find out a little bit more about her interests and what makes her tick.
 

ESN: What do you enjoy most about your work at ESN?
Linda Gilbert: I enjoy being part of a new and innovative ESL program that I see inspires students daily. The daily challenges and wins urge me to be the best that I can be.
ESN: What do you do in your spare time?  
Linda Gilbert: I love attending the theater both on and off Broadway, discovering new yummy places to eat and drink in the city, and taking weekend trips upstate and bingeing on favorite shows.
ESN: If you could learn anything what would it be?
Linda Gilbert: I would learn to play the piano like a boss.
ESN: Who are your role models? 
Linda Gilbert: Thirston D. Gilbert, Grace Lee Boggs, Thich Nhat Han.
ESN: Where has been your favorite place to travel? 
Linda Gilbert: I really enjoyed traveling to Luang Prabang, Laos. The Laos are warm and welcoming and the city is amazing. I have wonderful memories of my experiences traveling throughout Laos, but Luang Prabang stirred my heart and soul.
ESN: Where would you like to go next? 
Linda Gilbert: Easter Island is high on my list of places to visit next.
